Vatican increase security

ITALY has stepped up security at the Vatican, monuments, churches, trains and other sites across the country ahead of the Easter holidays.

An Interior Ministry official stressed there were no specific threats and described the move as a "routine measure" ahead of the holidays.

In Rome alone, an estimated 2,000 policemen some of them undercover will patrol potential targets.
