Police launch inquiry into murder of wealthy heiress

Police launched a murder inquiry after the body of Suzy Healey, 39, was discovered on Monday at Ellerker Hall in East Yorkshire.

Divorcee Ms Healey, a mother of two teenage girls, is the daughter of multi-millionaire Malcolm Healey, who made much of his E1.2 billion fortune when he sold his Hygena kitchen business.

In a statement her family said: .“We hope that the media will understand that this is a terrible shock for our family. We would ask that they respect our privacy and allow us to grieve and come to terms with our tragic loss without unwanted intrusion.”

Earlier, Humberside Police said a post-mortem examination had been completed on Ms Healey’s body overnight but the results were not being released for “operational reasons.”

A force spokesperson said: “The woman did not die of natural causes.”

It is believed she was strangled.

Officers are continuing to question a 37-year-old man who was arrested in the Scarborough area on Monday on suspicion of murder.

It is understood the death is being treated as a domestic-related incident.

Her father lives at the huge Walter Priory estate about ten miles away. He is known for keeping a low profile and spends a lot of time in the United States.

It is understood Ms Healey had been in a relationship with a man for about six months, but decided to halt marriage plans. She cancelled her wedding just two weeks before she was killed. Ms Healey was separated from Hull fish processing firm owner Tim Rose, whom she married in 1988 in Barbados.
