Employers, workers set to clash on EU’s Lisbon economy plan

WORKERS and employers’ groups are set for a fight to protect their interests in the wake of the mid-term review of the Lisbon Strategy, designed to make Europe the world’s most dynamic and knowledge-led economy.

Since the 10-year strategy was launched in 2000, the EU economy has lost ground to the US and Asia.

The 13-member expert review, led by former Dutch prime minister and union leader Wim Kok, includes business representatives and employees.
