SCIENTISTS yesterday revealed a computer-generated image of how Elvis Presley would have looked at the age of 70.

The picture, produced to coincide with his 70th birthday today, shows Elvis with considerably more wrinkles but retaining his trademark raven hair.

Scientists and psychologists at St Andrew’s University used the latest in computer technology to reproduce the natural effects of ageing on skin texture, hairline and hair colour in order to create the up-to-date picture of Elvis.

Professor David Perrett, who helped put together the image, said yesterday: “In the newly generated image there was no attempt to change the appearance of the hair.

“In common with many celebrities, Elvis may have chosen to use artificial hair and hair colour.”

To mark his 70th birthday, hit single Jailhouse Rock has been re-released.
