GREEK and Turkish Cypriot leaders are to meet tomorrow in New York with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in a bid to kickstart stalled peace talks on reunifying Cyprus before it joins the European Union on May 1.

Both Greek Cypriot President Tassos Papadapoulos and veteran Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash have accepted the UN chief’s invitation, but neither has committed to Annan’s conditions for an end to the island’s 30-year division.
