A 15-member surgical team yesterday removed Norwegian King Harald’s cancerous bladder, and said the near six-hour operation had gone without complications or any indication that the cancer has spread.

A statement from the royal palace described the 66-year-old monarch’s condition as “completely satisfactory.”

The medical team said the popular king was awake and in intensive care, but could be up and walking a few steps as early as today.
