AN intelligent cooker has been invented that stops pans from boiling over.

The cooker is fitted with sensors to detect when the contents of the pan produces too much steam and automatically turns down the heat.

It also senses if the pan may have boiled dry and switches off the gas as a precaution.

A working prototype of the Sensiboil cooker has been created by design graduate Chris Aram.

The 25-year-old, who invented the cooker as a final year project on his course in product design at Brunel University, said: “I am quite an enthusiastic chef but I got fed up with the amount of time I spent waiting for a pan to boil.

“It was later that I realised the safety implications as well, because many accidents in the home are caused by pans being left unattended.”
