AN angry mob invaded the international airport in Abidjan yesterday, blocking planes from taking off and taunting French passengers trying to flee Ivory Coast’s civil war.

One French soldier was injured as the mob threw rocks at the troops, who took up defensive positions around their citizens.

"Go home and don't come back," the demonstrators screamed at the families, who were trying to leave the former French colony in West Africa after days of anti-French protests.
