Harry Potter car stolen from film studios
The blue Ford Anglia 7990 TD went missing from the South West Film Studios in St Agnes, Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall police said the car vanished between 5.30pm on Wednesday and 4.15pm the following day.
A police spokesman said the car, in a poor state of repair, was under a tarpaulin at the site.
“The thieves may not have known its connection with the films, and just thought it was a classic car, or it may have been a Harry Potter freak,” he said.
For those who have not seen the Harry Potter films, this is the car that flies in the movies and is very well known.
“It is believed that the vehicle could not have been driven, therefore it is suspected that it would have to have been towed or full lifted from the scene,” said the police spokesman.
PC Mark Durkowski, from Peranporth, said the Ford Anglia was in the grounds of the film studios and visible from the road.
“It was very much in the open,” he said, adding that he did not believe the majority of people in the area had any idea of the car’s connection with the Harry Potter films.
