Israel accuses Syria of terrorism

ISRAEL joined pressure on Syria yesterday, demanding it get Hizbollah guerrillas out of Lebanon and accusing it of supporting terrorism.

Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, who was visiting Turkey, accused Damascus of harbouring terrorists and granting refuge to senior Iraqi officials.

Shalom accused Damascus of undermining peace in the Middle East amid fears the US-led war in the region could spread to Iraq’s neighbours.
