Russians killed in Chechnya

REBEL attacks and explosions have killed five Russian soldiers and wounded 13 more across Chechnya.

Fighting also continued in Chechnya’s mountainous Vedeno district. Several soldiers were wounded, but it was unclear how many.

Russia is fighting its second war in a decade in Chechnya. Full-scale offensives have largely ended, replaced by a stalemate of near-daily rebel hit-and-run attacks and Russian air and artillery barrages.
