Monkeys in brain power breakthrough

SCIENTISTS have trained monkeys to control a robotic arm through the power of thought, it emerged yesterday.

The breakthrough offers hope to people paralysed by spinal injuries, as the technology could eventually be used to control prosthetic limbs or even muscles.

The research marks the first time an animal has been able to use brain power alone to operate a mechanical object.
