Medics battled to treat hundreds of injured

MINUTES after the first blast ripped through Liverpool Street station, the emergency plan swung into operation. Hospitals were soon inundated with the hundreds of injured.

At the various blast sites, doctors and paramedics battled to save the most critically injured on streets and tube train platforms.
