MEDICAL organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says it has serious concerns about United Nations plans to reduce food aid supplies in Niger, which has been badly hit by shortages.

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has said once harvest gets underway next month it will end general food distribution to concentrate on the most needy.

The UN argues this will allow food prices to normalise.
