THE Government's road programme was slammed by business groups yesterday for moving too slowly.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan was also accused of ignoring the Government's policy of regional development.

Fine Gael transport spokesman Denis Naughten said the NRA road allocations contradicted both the Programme for Government and the National Spatial Strategy and compounded the discrepancy in regional investment. The four local authorities in Dublin got 448 million while the Connacht counties received just 68m.
