Canadian theatre collapses

Canadian rescue services rushed to a Toronto theatre yesterday after it and adjoining buildings collapsed with reports that five people, including children, were trapped inside.

Police said details were sketchy, but there were reports of several injuries.

The collapse occurred at the landmark Uptown Theatre. Local radio reported that several adjacent buildings were also damaged, including one that houses a private school called the Yorkville English Academy.
