EU aiming to reduce obesity

EU Commissioner David Byrne is examining how we label food as a means of cutting out obesity.

“Across Europe, the fast-food generation are developing an obesity epidemic,” he said at an international nurses meeting hosted by the Irish Nurses Organisation in Dublin.

And, he warned, the consequences for individual health and public health systems were stark.
