Major set to speak on affair with Currie

FORMER lovers Edwina Currie and John Major were last night preparing to make their first public appearances since their affair was revealed.

Mrs Currie was returning home early from a holiday to give a series of media interviews today before honouring an appointment with a writers’ group.

And Mr Major is today due to give a speech in the US for a charity of which he is patron. Neither have been seen in public since Saturday’s bombshell disclosure by Mrs Currie that they had an affair between 1984 and 1988, when she was a junior health minister and he was in the whips’ office.
