Cholera deaths in Nigeria

A CHOLERA outbreak in the northern Nigerian city of Kano has killed at least 42 people and infected more than 600 others, hospital officials said.

Physician Ashiru Lawal, head of the state-run Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kano, said the figures represented only those recorded at the hospital since October 22. Forty-two people have died since that date, Dr Lawal said.
