Children pulled from rubble of school wreckage

TWO young children have been pulled alive from the rubble of a school wrecked by the earthquake.

A French rescue team using modern detection technology managed to locate the children under the tonnes of rubble.

A cable headed with a microphone speaker was sunk through the rubble and into the cavity where the children were trapped so that a parent could reassure the children that help was on its way.
