Teenager found alive in rubble after six days

RESCUE teams pulled a 16-year-old boy from the debris of a collapsed apartment building yesterday after he survived almost six days under the rubble.

Muhammet Kalem was the first survivor to be pulled from the wreckage in almost five days and his father, Ahmet, had so little hope of seeing his son again that he had already dug his grave.

The 11-storey building in central Turkey collapsed on Monday killing at least 68 people. Twenty-nine survivors were pulled from the wreckage, but the last to be pulled out alive was rescued on Tuesday.
