Next President of European Commission is anybody’s guess

BRUSSELS tends to be a gossipy place at the best of times but the EU capital is jumping with talk of who will be the next President of the European Commission at the moment.

Around every street corner there seems to be another group talking at times in hushed tones and at other times animatedly about the subject.

There have been lists of names, and bookies betting lists and even otherwise sensible think tanks producing scorecards on the subject.
