Immigrants stranded by boat accident

DOZENS of illegal immigrants were stranded on a Greek islet yesterday, after their wooden boat smashed onto rocks in bad weather.

About 60 immigrants, whose nationalities were not known, were spotted on Ananes, a rocky islet near the Aegean Sea island of Milos.

A rescue helicopter pilot reported seeing a 50-foot boat broken up on the rocks.
