Polish suspect freed

A POLISH court has refused to extradite a suspected left-wing militant to Turkey, citing concern he might be tortured.

Behsat S was detained in May on the Polish-Ukrainian border, and faces charges in Turkey related to terror acts by the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front.

The court in the eastern city of Lublin decided on Friday to release Behsat S due to continuing concerns that prisoners in Turkey may be tortured.
