Windsor security shocking, says phoney footman

DAILY MIRROR reporter Ryan Parry who worked undercover as a footman at Buckingham Palace for two months claimed yesterday that security at Windsor Castle was more shocking.

In a second day of revelations, Mr Parry, 26, described four days he spent at the Queen's country retreat in October.

Mr Parry wrote that security at Windsor was "even more shocking" considering it had been tightened after "comedy terrorist" Aaron Barschak gatecrashed Prince William's 21st birthday celebration at the castle in June.

While there he claimed to have gained his closest access to Britian's Queen Elizabeth, carrying food to her apartments, serving her gin and Dubonnet her favourite tipple and delivering newspapers and private mail to her room.

Mr Parry had claimed no rigorous security checks were made on his background but he was still given the chance to get close enough to the Queen to have poisoned her.

He was due to serve breakfast to the George W Bush's top aides on Wednesday but he left the palace the night before after the US president arrived, the newspaper said.
