Five charged with conspiracy to kidnap Posh Spice
The men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested last November.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers from the Kidnap and Special Investigations Unit have fully investigated the allegation of a conspiracy to kidnap Victoria Beckham.
“Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, it has been decided that they will be charged with the offence of conspiracy to kidnap Victoria Beckham.”
The men are due to appear at Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court on February 24.
Sources said the former Spice Girl and her England soccer captain husband David Beckham had been informed of the decision.
Following the alleged kidnap plot last November, the Beckhams reviewed their security arrangements.
Police at the time questioned nine people in connection with the plan to kidnap Mrs Beckham and her two young sons, three-year-old Brooklyn and baby Romeo.
Officers had arrested seven men and two women in connection with the alleged plot to demand a 8 million ransom for the safe return of Victoria Beckham, and over theft allegations.
