Directors of failed companies face court

THREE hundred directors of failed companies will find themselves before the High Court next year accounting for their conduct, the Director of Corporate Enforcement, Paul Appleby, disclosed yesterday.

Some of the rogue directors of insolvent companies may be prosecuted by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for criminal offences and breaches of company law and could face terms of imprisonment.

However, the majority will either have their right to be directors restricted or be disqualified from holding future company directorships.
