Majority will retire with poor pension

MOST Irish workers will retire without even the minimum recommended pension, the Society of Irish Actuaries in Ireland has warned.

The society’s report on the pensions market warned “most people will not have sufficient funds for a pension of even 50% of gross pre-retirement income” - the minimum sum recommended to ensure financial security in old age.

And they warn people will be forced to work beyond age 65.
