Family turmoil as husband refused entry

RAMAZAN CALA has not seen his four-month-old baby daughter Courtney since she was just days’ old.

He does not know when he will be able to see her again.

Ramazan, 20, from Albania was deported on St Valentine’s Day after his application for refugee status was rejected. The fact that he was engaged to be married to an Irish citizen and had just fathered her child mattered little, the immigration authorities decided. It mattered a great deal to 24-year-old Sarah Caufield. She had been living with Ramazan in her mother Elizabeth’s Finglas home for more than a year and a half. Courtney, the couple’s first daughter was just 13 days’ old when her father was imprisoned and then deported.
