Man kills ex-partner and two daughters in stabbing frenzy

A FATHER who stabbed to death two of his young daughters and his former partner in a jealous rage inflicted more than 100 stab wounds on them before killing himself, an inquest heard yesterday.

Joanne Catley, 33, and her daughters Phoebe, four, and Emma, two, died in the kitchen of their home in Healing, north-east Lincolnshire, and their father, Richard Hicks, died after jumping from the Humber Bridge shortly afterwards.

Yesterday a coroner in Cleethorpes recorded verdicts of unlawful killing on the two girls and their mother and one of suicide on Mr Hicks.
