Motorists stun firm with crazy insurance claims

SHOE polish, a steak sandwich and a satellite TV package are just a few of the bizarre items drivers have recently attempted to claim on insurance, a legal firm in Britain revealed yesterday.

The list, released by RAC accident-care specialists, includes some of the items optimistic car-owners have tried to claim over the last two months.

Among the more unusual insurance claims to land on the desks of bemused legal staff was for a bottle of shoe polish after the claimant's shoes were scuffed in an accident.
