A TRAIN slammed into a school bus yesterday, killing at least seven high school students near the Turkish capital of Ankara.

The train collided with the bus at an uncontrolled railroad crossing in the town of Temelli, about 22 miles west of Ankara, said local mayor Alaatin Turkoglu.

Weeping families rushed to the crash site where the school bus turned over, television footage showed.

In another accident earlier today, a truck crashed into a passenger bus near the northern city of Amasya, killing at least 11 people, including the truck driver, a police official said.

Both the truck and the bus were on fire after the crash. Twenty-eight others were injured.
