United States Vice President Dick Cheney’s long-time chief of staff, Lewis Libby, who resigned last week after being indicted in a CIA leak investigation, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday for an arraignment.

Libby, indicted on charges of obstructing justice, perjury and making false statements, is expected to enter a plea of not guilty.

The federal judge chosen to handle Libby’s case, Reggie Walton, also could set a schedule for the filing of motions, and possibly a trial date.
