Another school scare in Beslan

AUTHORITIES called off classes yesterday at an elementary school in Beslan, the southern Russian town that suffered a deadly hostage-taking at another school eight months ago, because of a suspicious-looking object found at the school.

The Interfax news agency said a plastic bottle was found on school grounds wrapped in tape and with some wires coming out of it.

School No 6, where the bomb scare occurred, is hosting children from School No 1, which was targeted in the September terror attack, the ITAR-Tass agency said.
