Irish Life leads bank surge

THE ISEQ index performed well yesterday, advancing 56.53 points from Thursday's tally to 4165.96.

The financial sector performed solidly yesterday. Irish Life & Permanent led the surge by adding 29c to €10.90.

Ireland's leading banks Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland continued the upward trend with Bank of Ireland climbing 17c to €10.25 and Allied Irish Bank rising 5c to €13.45.
