Di and JFK Jnr - her sexlife still sells

SHE died almost eight years ago and Diana, Princess of Wales is still making front-page news.

Di and JFK Jnr - her sexlife still sells

Like previous headline- grabbing tabloid tales, the latest salacious story - that the Princess slept with John F Kennedy Junior - aims to promote a sensational new book.

Diana’s spiritual healer Simone Simmons claims the Princess confided in her that she had a torrid affair with the son of murdered President John F Kennedy Senior after a sexual encounter at New York’s swanky Carlyle Hotel.

Such claims, of course, are now almost impossible to prove or disprove, such is the nature of the Diana industry which makes fortunes for those anxious to cash in.

The dead cannot protest at any alleged falsehoods and they cannot sue for libel.

Kennedy Jnr died two years after Diana in a plane crash in September 1999.

Ironically, another Diana confidante, her former butler Paul Burrell, who has himself profited from his royal associations, is quick to rubbish the spiritualist’s claims.

A world-famous icon and the most photographed woman of her time, the divorced Princess remains hot news, much to the distress of her sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

They prefer not to utter their mother’s name in public for fear of reigniting the Diana news inferno.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, set up to channel charity funds to causes championed by the Princess, tried to monopolise something called Diana’s “intellectual property rights.”

Diana has become a brand if not an exclusive trademark.

Her name and her memory are the subject of multi- million-pound licensing and marketing deals.

Those who claim to own the former People’s Princess, wishing to turn her into private property, realise the vast sums of money involved.

And when there is money to be made, it seems the Princess will never rest in peace.
