Black Watch soldier ‘died for war he didn’t believe in’

THE brother of a British Black Watch soldier who was killed in a suicide attack in Iraq said yesterday that he had died in a war started for money and oil.

Private Paul Lowe, 19, Sergeant Stuart Gray, 31, and Private Scott McArdle, 22, who all came from Fife, in Scotland, died in the blast at a vehicle checkpoint on Thursday.

Pte Lowe’s younger brother Craig, an 18-year-old private who returned from Basra last month, paid tribute to his “brilliant brother, comrade and friend”, who loved his job but did not believe that he should have been in Iraq.
