AN AIR FRANCE plane flying overnight from Dubai to Paris made an emergency stop in Beirut after the pilot was informed that explosives could be on board, the airline said.

No explosives were found on the plane, which landed safely at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport about six hours late, said an airline official.

The threat was phoned into Air France’s office at the Dubai airport after the plane had taken off. The message was relayed to the pilot, who promptly landed the plane in the Lebanese capital.
