AN envelope containing white powder and addressed to Slovak Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda was intercepted at a Bratislava post office.

Police spokeswoman Silvia Mihalikova said two post office employees who handled the envelope were placed under observation at a hospital as a precaution.

Dozens of suspicious-looking envelopes or parcels containing white powder are investigated in Slovakia every year but none has been found to contain anthrax or any other deadly substance.
