Two sisters in court over ‘bomber assistance’

TWO women accused of helping the alleged would-be suicide bomber Hussain Osman to flee Britain appeared in court yesterday to face terror charges.

Osman’s wife Yeshiemebet Girma, 29, her head covered with a scarf, sat in the dock with her arms folded and fists clenched tightly during a hearing at Bow Street Magistrates Court in central London.

Her younger sister Mulumebet Girma, 21, sat next to her in the dock dressed in jeans and a light blue cardigan.

Both women waved and smiled at relatives in the public gallery after their applications for bail were refused and they were remanded in custody to appear again at the Old Bailey on November 17.

They face lengthy jail terms if convicted. Their family is originally from Ethiopia.
