Fourth suspected bomber not yet named by police

THE identity of the fourth suspect remains a mystery. While it was reported last night that the bombing investigation team has identified him, no name has been released or emerged in the media.

He is believed, like the others, to have been British-born and from the West Yorkshire area. Some media reports said he was a teenager from the same inner city area of Beeston near Leeds and police believe he was a friend of the other suspected attackers.

His remains and documents are thought to have been found in the Piccadilly line tunnel between King’s Cross and Russell Square stations, where at least 25 people died. Search teams are still looking for bodies from the carriages of the train.

In Beeston, with a population of about 16,000 of whom many are from south Asia, some blamed the area for offering few opportunities to teenagers and forcing them to turn to fundamentalist teachings.

“I’m from Iraq. I see this happening every day (in Iraq) and it has only happened to you once,” said Shahin Rassoul, 27, who has lived in Beeston for three years. “I am Muslim but I am strong. I would never have these thoughts. Some people are maybe weaker though. It’s always down to the individual.”

He added: “I am Muslim but I don’t think the Muslim community is doing enough to stop people turning away from them and carrying out acts like last Thursday.”

James Hawkshaw, who has lived in the area for five years said different communities in the area sometimes got on but sometimes did not. “It’s a bad area, put it that way. I’ve been shot here, crime is very high,” he said.
