Israelis admit killing Hamas chief in Syria
Israeli sources acknowledged their involvement and the Palestinian militant group vowed to retaliate.
Izz el-Deen al-Sheikh Khalil, believed to be in charge of Hamas's military wing outside the Palestinian territories, died when an explosive charge placed under the driver's seat ripped through his four-wheel drive in the Az-Zahera neighbourhood of the Syrian capital shortly after 11.30am, witnesses said.
