Monty’s last stand to save marriage

GOLFER Colin Montgomerie was at home yesterday after walking out of a Chinese tournament amid continuing reports that his wife Eimear had “grown close” to film star Hugh Grant.

The former European number one is believed to have rushed away from Hong Kong bound for talks with Eimear, his wife of 14 years, at their home in Oxshott, Surrey.

Montgomerie made hurried apologies to the organisers of the VW China Masters, due to start today, before flying back to Britain on Tuesday afternoon.
