Agonising decision over twins' fate

A MOTHER looks adoringly at her twin baby boys knowing that one of them must die if the other is to survive.

One-year-old Mohamed and Ahmed Ibrahim have sparked huge debate in Egypt on issues including their quality of life and the chances of success in surgically separating them.

For the twins' mother, Sabah Abu el-Wafa, the decision is heartbreaking. To save one child, she may have to make a decision which results in the death of her other son.
