BEING a member of the European Union must induce a form of psychosis for member state governments.

Every country is viewed as either an ally or an enemy. Anything they do or say must be analysed to see which side they are on - if they are with them or us.

Then there are those that fall into another category - the highly suspect one. If they are for something, then it must surely have negative connotations for you.
