Passport forgers arrested

SPANISH police this week arrested 10 people in a ring that forged European and US passports.

“Comparing the false, seized documents at the police station with others that were authentic, investigators were amazed by the similarity,” police in Barcelona said in a statement.

The investigation began in April and culminated with the arrest of six people, including the leader of the group, in Spain’s northeastern Catalonia region on Tuesday. Four others were arrested earlier. All 10 are Romanian.
