At least ten dead reported in Tanzania

A TIDAL wave unleashed by the Indonesian quake killed at least 10 people in Tanzania, 2,800 miles away, police said yesterday.

Others are feared dead when the boat they were in was capsized by the wave, said Alfred Tibaigana, regional police commander at the East African nation’s main city, Dar es Salaam.

Most of the 10 were swimming near Dar es Salaam’s beach, he said.
