SCIENTISTS have discovered a new appetite-suppressing hormone that may help doctors tackle obesity.

New hormone may help to tackle obesity

The hormone, obestatin, provides a missing piece in the complex puzzle of interacting genes and proteins that govern feelings of hunger and weight control.

It was found by using the principles of evolution to search for clues from the human genome and DNA blueprints for other organisms, including yeast, fruit flies and mice.
