Jonsson sex video destroyed, Collymore to tell court

The ex-soccer star consented to continuation of an injunction, granted to Miss Jonsson last Wednesday, banning him from publishing to others any video footage or still photos showing her naked or engaging in any kind of sexual activity.

The original injunction, to stop breach of confidence, was obtained after reports Mr Collymore had been offering a sex video of her for sale.

Ms Jonsson's counsel, Richard Parkes, told Mr Justice Eady yesterday that, according to Mr Collymore, the film had been destroyed.

Mr Collymore agreed to file evidence to that effect by 4pm today His solicitor advocate, David Price, said: "He denies he is under any liability or that this relief (the injunction) is appropriate, but he is not interested in contesting the matter and agrees to the injunction continuing."

The video is said to have been made when the couple were on holiday in Jamaica. Ms Jonsson described as a "monster" Mr Collymore in her recent autobiography, Honest. Their relationship ended after an incident in a Paris bar during the 1998 World Cup.

Last week, a statement from Ms Jonsson's lawyers said: "We note from press reports that it is said that certain material principally a video recording but possibly other material has been offered to various newspapers with a view to publication concerning our client. The reports indicate that the material, which is obviously private and confidential in nature, was being offered for sale by a representative of Mr Stan Collymore."

Ms Jonsson's lawyers added: "Our client is extremely relieved and pleased to note that the press have, commendably, declined to purchase or publish such material for which our client is very grateful."
