Discovery of boy's body sparks air and sea search for parents
A major air and sea search operation was underway for the child’s parents after the youngster, of Afro-Caribbean origin, was discovered in the water at the west Wales resort of Saundersfoot.
Detectives at the scene, on the beach at Coppet Hall Point, within view of the seaside village, were treating the death as suspicious. But the coastguards were proceeding on the assumption that the death was a tragic accident and were searching the sea for the bodies of the child’s parents.
